As usual, mahirap syang gisingin.
He's such a light traveler talaga!
Ang breakfast namin eh Pampanga's specialty: tocino omelet with rice at syempre and batirol (Pampanga's version of the Chocolate Eh). Grabe ansarap mag-breakfast dahil katabi namin ang pool.
After breakfast we drove again.
Huminto kami along San Antonio Highway. Very close pa sa nature.
Very progressive talaga ang sunset. Nag-iiba ng colors every minute. Ganda! May yellow, may purple, may violet, may orange. The setting is so romantic and familiar. It turns out, sa Pundaquit pala nag-shooting ang "Maging Sino Ka Man".
Mga 7 pm na ata dumating yung mga fellow Docents from Ayala Museum: Marilyn, Abet, Pat, Ian, Tess, Van, Kay.
We had dinner na most seafoods. I was introduced to the local fish variety, Lipistikan. Lasang tilapia sya.
After dinner, yosi break. Nahati ang table between the first world and the third world. The third world guys are the yosi guys. Hurray!!!!
Nag-inuman kami hanggang magdaman. Naglaitan, nag kwentuhan, nagbugubugan.
Next blog. Camara Island and Capones Island.

ONE RAINY AFTERNOON
It was almost a year since we last saw each other and almost two months since we last communicated via SMS. So I was rather surprised when you asked me to see you in Olongapo. I was surprised because I thought you don't want to see me anymore.
Ours is something undefined. Something unforgettable. It's there but it's not there actually. Thank you for always being there especially during the lowest part of my life. Thank you for the moments. Reminiscing was such a good thing. There you are. Talking, shouting, singing. And in the end, I understood. All along....
It was one rainy morning when I drove to Olongapo and it was raining when I left. But at least I know... some good things really never last.

TIFP Batch 2006-2007 Graduation Ceremonies
Finally, after a full year of hardwork and full year of sacrificing our Saturdays just to attend classes at the Asian Institute of Management, last May 11, 2007, we received our diplomas in lavish program.
The official call time was 5PM. However, the ceremonies started at around 6pm. At that point, nobody knows who will be graduating with satisfaction, distinction. We still don't know the top 10 students.
The BPI contingent was seated on a table and are hoping that at least 1 rep will land in the top 10.
During the awarding of diplomas, it was revealed that Kim, Winston, and Jok are graduating with distinction. I was not called. My goodness! Our Administrator informed us that those who were not called are the top 10 students. What!!!!
To make the long story short, I was the last to be called. I can't believe it, I am the Class Valedictorian.
Our administrator announced that it is our Salutatorian who will be sent to the National Graduate Trust School, Northwestern University, Illinois to attend a special trust course. She is the only one in the Top 10 with no exam scores below 80. This also happened last year.
My score kasi in the check-up exam for Transfer Agency and Other Trust Functions was less than 80% although my final exam score was 100%. Well ganun talaga, rules are rules. It's not meant for me. I'm happy because I am still the valedictorian. They can't take that away from me. I will forever be listed in the List of Valedictorian students. I thank the Lord for that.
After ceremonies, we had little kasiyahan. Nag-disco ang mga students and teachers. Swing, cha cha, boogie, foxtrot. Halos midnight na natapos ang kasayahan.
Once again congratulations to Jok, Winston, Kim and Karen. Good luck sa mga susunod na batch from BPI.

UP Naming Mahal
U.P. Naming Mahal
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
U.P. Naming Mahal is the university hymn of the University of the Philippines. The melody for the song was written by Nicanor Abelardo, an alumnus and former faculty member of the U.P. College of Music and considered to be one of the Philippines' greatest musicians while the original English lyrics (as "U.P. Beloved") was taken from a poem by Teogenes Veles.
Lyrics
I.
U.P. naming mahal
Pamantasang hirang
Ang tinig namin
Sana'y iyong dinggin
Malayong lupain
Amin mang marating
Di rin magbabago ang damdamin
Di rin magbabago ang damdamin
II.
Luntian at pula
Sagisag magpakailanman
Ating ipagdiwang
Bulwagan ng dangal
Humayo't itanghal
Giting at tapang
Mabuhay ang pag-asa ng bayan
Mabuhay ang pag-asa ng bayan.

This is the Moment
This song is my favorite videoke song. He he he
This Is The Moment!!
This is the moment, this is the day
When I send all my doubts and demons on their way
Every endeavor I have made ever
Is comin’ into play, is here and now today
This is the moment, this is the time
When the momentum and the moment are in rhyme
Give me this moment, this precious chance
I’ll gather up my past and make some sense at last
This is the moment when all I’ve done
When all the dreamin’, schemin’ and screaming become one
This is the day, see it sparkle and shine
When all I’ve lived for becomes mine
For all these years, I’ve faced the world alone
And now that the time has come to prove to them
I’ve made it on my own
This is the moment, my final test
Destiny beckoned, I never reckoned second best
I won’t look down, I must not fall
This is the moment, the sweetest moment of them all
This is the moment, damn all the odds
This day or never, I’ll sit forever with the gods
When I look back, I will always recall
Moment for moment,
.........this was the moment,
..................the greatest moment of them all.

My Dream Program - PhD in Asian Finance
The Ph.D. in International Management - Major in Asian Finance
The Ph.D. Program in International Management was established to provide opportunities for a select group of intellectually gifted students to develop high-level research and teaching skills in international management with a particular focus on Asia and the Pacific. The goal of the program is to encourage the highest level of scholarship so graduates can look forward to career-long contributions in international management research, education, and service.
The College of Business Administration at the University of Hawaii at Manoa offers a Doctor of Philosophy in International Management that will prepare you for a career in teaching and scholarly research at the university level. This full-time program emphasizes a strong foundation in both methodological and theoretical training. A teaching opportunity, supported by an ongoing seminar in pedagogy, will give you valuable experience in the classroom.
Program Specializations
Asian Finance: The Basic Program Design
Each sub-specialization offers four theory courses in that sub-specialized area during the first two years of the program. Further, the two basic theory courses are offered in each area during the first year of the program, so as to prepare students for their qualifying examinations. Each specialization offers a set of four research methods courses, often selected from existing offerings at other UH graduate programs. Additionally, each sub-specialization will require their students to take four advanced elective theory courses either within the CBA or in departments outside the college. The advanced elective theory courses will focus on International Asia/Pacific content areas. Last, all students must enroll in BUS 705: Seminar in International Management for the first two years of their program. Enrollment in BUS 705 after the first two years is voluntary.

DLSU Alma Mater Hymn
Ok. pala ang hymn ng DLSU! Minsan ko lang sya nakanta. Thrice pala. Once during the College Recognition Program, once during the Graduation practice, and once din noong graduation. My freind Roselle and I were actually so out of place during the first time we sang the song with our fellow lasallians.
DLSU Alma Mater Hymn
Hail, Hail
Alma Mater,
Hail to De La Salle!
We'll hold your banner high and bright,
A shield of green and white,
We'll fight to keep your glory bright,
And never shall we fail,
Hail to thee our Alma Mater!
Hail! Hail! Hail!

Caleruega and Tagaytay
Mike
Roselle at U
Cheng at Ivo
P
Jack
Bart
Dino
Grabee. Ang groom, si Ferdz, ay may measles. Ordinary measles daw at hindi German measles. Tinanong ko kung rubella ba. Hind raw.
Bwe he he he.
After the wedding, kodakan na naman. Hirap maging artista.
Ang reception ay ginanap sa isang bangin. Hindi pala. Splendido Gold and Country Club pala yun. Grabe sa tarik ang venue.
Andaming bisita. Per mas maraming pagkain. He he he.
Si Cheng ang nag-emcee. Ayaw samahan ni Ivo, nahihiya ata.
Kainang umaatikabo. May soup, may appetizers, salad, main dish at desserts.
Si Cheng ang inabutan ng bouquet. Baka sya nag sususnod na ikakasal!!! Ano kay ang masasabi ni Ivo.
After the program, nga-change outfits ang grupo. Naka-shorts ata ang lahat.
It was decided na magpalamig sa Sonya's Gardes. Maganda sya at maraming halaman. Mahal masyado. He he he.
Mike, Ivo, Dino: Bottomless brewed cofee
P, Cheng, Jack: Shakes
Cinnamon bread with raisins.
Nagpalipas ng oras. Sobra ganda nga garden ng Bag of Beans.
He he he.
6pm, Picnic Grove.
Diretso uwi
11 pm, Touch down sa Makati Prime City.
Sarap sa Tagaytay.
Sa May 25 eh lalarga ako, Ivo, Cheng, Jack at P pauntang Vigan.
Sa May 18 naman eh sa Fontana kami, Summer Outing ng AMTG - AMD.
Syempre, hindi ito pinampas ng grupo.

Hetyo ang orders:
Mike, Ivo, Dino: Bottomless brewed cofee
P, Cheng, Jack: Shakes
Cinnamon bread with raisins.
Nagpalipas ng oras. Sobra ganda nga garden ng Bag of Beans.
He he he.
6pm, Picnic Grove.
Diretso uwi
11 pm, Touch down sa Makati Prime City.
Sarap sa Tagaytay.
Sa May 25 eh lalarga ako, Ivo, Cheng, Jack at P pauntang Vigan.
Sa May 18 naman eh sa Fontana kami, Summer Outing ng AMTG - AMD.
La Mesa Eco Park, April 14, 2007
Napagkaisahan ng barkada na mag-out of town sa weekend ng April 14. I suggested to go to Tagaytay. Ivo suggested to conduct picnic sa La Mesa Eco Park.
Pumayag kami.
Ang plano. Sabado, April 14. Also 8 ng umaga, lalarga papuntang QC. Bibili na lang ng foods sa daan. Meeting place sa haus.
Sabado, 8 AM.
Naks! Meant for each other talaga ang 2.
Car No. 1. Team Ex+ 1 composed of Ivo, Cheng, at Jack.
Car No. 2. Singles for Christ + 1 composed of Mike, P, and Anj.
Diretso kami a Shopwise Pasong Tamo. Namili ng Soft drinks, water, chicken broiled, fruits, finger foods.
Heto na. May nakalimutan daw si Cheng. As usual, yung Thesis pala nya. Nag-decide sya na since madadaanan naman namin ang UP, balak nyang mag-submit ng output sa thesis adviser nya. Yeheey! Ga-graduate na sya!!!
Nakarating kami sa UP, tapos diretso paunta sa Commonwealth. Biglang sabi ni Anj, may maganda raw syang joke. Tungkol kay San Pedro. Nakakaiyak sya. Nakita ang building ng Commission on Human Rights. Aba!!! Balak mag-sumbong.
Ala-una na ata kami nakarating sa Ecopark. Andaming tao!!!!!!!!!!!
After lunch, naglatag kami ng higaan. Nagpahinga. It's so hot in the Philippines!!! Tama nga si Al Gore!!
Around 3:30 pm, nag-decide kaming mag-boating. Ansarap. 4 feet lang pala ang lagoon. Si P, syempre kidit. Kabadong kabado!! Muntik pa kaming mapaaway sa ibang boats.
After boating, dumiretso kami sa picnic area. Medyo mahabang lakaran. Nagyosi ang brotherhood and sisterhood of marlboro.

So trabaho mode muna.
Nag-check ng work area. Naks! Pang 5S!
10:00 pm. Naalimpungatan ako sa busina sa tapat. Dapat nga pala eh around 8pm ang departure time namin. Naligo ako ng konti. Kinti lang. He he he.
Nagpamasahe. Nanoon ng tv. Internet. Kain. Tulog. Pahinga. Grabe sa init ng panahon. Pero kailangang mag-rest dahil madaling araw kami aalis.
Holy Friday
Umalis kami ng alas dose ng madaling araw, tanghali pala. Ha ha ha ha. As usual, late nagising ang mga magda-drive.
Convoy kami. 2 sasakyan. Total of 7 adults and 3 children.
Nag-text ako at hayun, umuwi rin pala sya for the Semana Santa.
Lucia Chursh.
I enjoyed Agoo Churh dahil sa lifesize nilang mga rebulto for the procession. Halatang ginastusan ang procession.
Last Church namin ay ang Our Lady of Namacpacan Church sa Luna, La Union.
We rented a beach house sa Luna. Nagkainan. Mabato, ma-corrals at mahalaman sya.
Black Saturday
Naligo kami sa beach. Nag-snorkeling ako. Pasado na rin ang tubig. Maraming isdang lumalangoy. Sige langoy lang nang langoy.
10 am We departed for Vigan. Dumaan ulit kami sa Namcpacan Church. Then dumiretso kami sa Vigan.
3:00 pm, Vigan na kami. Nag-lunch kami sa Max's. We tasted the Vigan longanisa and the dinoydoy. Namasyal kami habang nakasakay sa Calesa. Pumunta kami sa Syqui mansion and then diretso na a Baluarte ni Chavit Singson. Sa baluarte, I was impressed by the landsape. May ibat ibang hayop din tulad ng mini ponies, tigers, white deer, peacocks etc etc. Yung alaga naming mini-pinscher eh nakatuwaan ng isang ponies/ Balak habulin.
Konting pasyal pa and then by sunset balik kami sa Pangasinan.
10pm, San Fabian, Pangasinan. Nag-check in kami s isang resort sa Nibaliw, San Fabian. Tulog agad kami dahil sa sobra pagod.
Easter
He he he.
Nagluto ng seafood for lunch. Sarap ng fresh seafoods.
2:00 pm. Manaoag Church.
7pm Welcome San Jose!!!

The Black Sapphire Car
Two weeks ago I bid goodbye to my first car. It was a Mazda 323 Familia which I got in the last quarter of 1999. It was brand new and the color - trad green. It was witness to many of the incidents that unfolded in my life. It was able to go to the Ilocos, Baguio, Isabela, Southern Tagalog. A considerable portion of its life was spent in Subic since I was assigned in Subic from May 1999 to October 2003. I can say that the car is truly a "subiceno". Until now, the car has no name. I simply call it CRE693.
In January, I started toying about the idea of getting my second car. My considerations are the following: cost, fuel efficiency, safety. Mu budget was only P682,500.00 since this is the maximum amount under my car facility benefit. I visited several dealers and narrowed my choices:
Toyota Avanza (Red)
Toyota Vios (Black Pearl)
Honda City (Night Hawk Black)
Chevrolet Optra Base Model
Chevrolet Aveo Sedan (Gray or Black)
Nissan Sentra (Gray)
Mitsubishi Lancer
Suzuki MPV
I also wanted something unique, something elegant.
For me, the right choice was the new Chevrolet Aveo Sedan. It's the latest model from Chevrolet. My dealer, Marcy first gave me a brochure of the Optra. When I went to the sowroom, I fell in love with the Aveo Sedan.
The Chevy Aveo Sedan is roomy, fuel efficient 1.4 engine withVGIS. It has 2 airbags with ABS. Now, we're talking SAFETY and EFFICIENCY. Plus, March gave me a P20,000 discount, and free 3-year registration. These freebies are unparalled by Honda and Toyota. Thus, the total cash price was only P620K. When I submitted the purchase order on a February 23 Friday, I was able to pick-up my new car on February 27 Tuesday. How efficient! 10 days after, I was able to get the plate number. I really like the service of Chevrolet Pasong Tamo.
I have already logged around 1100 kms in my odometer. I need to bring the car for its first check up on or before the 5000 km mark. I will be able to check the service quality of the Maintenance section of Chevrolet.
Since it's black, it needs constant cleaning. Its carwash days are every Sunday and Wednesday (night). Full tank costs around P1500.00. I currently use the Techron Silver Unleaded of Caltex because I earn 3% rebate when I use my HSBC mastercard there. I also use Petron Unleaded because I get 2% rebate from my Petron BPI Mastercard. I will try to use Shell E-10 one of these days if I feel a little bit environmentalist.
It has already visited Subic, San Jose N.E.. Next month, it will visit Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocas, and Batangas and Tagaytay.
I do hope that it will not give me headaches. All I'm praying for is to have a 5-year repair-free relationship with this new car. Makes me wonder what car would be next, 5 years from now. Let's just pray it's a CRV next time. Ha ha ha.

My first entry
Now I can breathe. Just finished the One Year Course on Trust Operations and Investment Management at the Trust Institute Foundation of the Philippines. Gone are the Saturdays wherein I need to wake up early just to be at AIM at exactly 9 am. For the entire year, I think I was late 80% of the time. The remaining 20% - absent - ha ha ha.
I was able to expand my knowledge on trust and investments. I was also able to meet new friends from various trust institutions.
Our graduation is on May 14. It will be held at the Makati Sports Center. I hope ok naman ang rankings ko.
So much for that. Last Friday, we received our Performance Bonus at BPI. Balita ko, those who were able to meet standards got a mutliple of 1.4. Those who were able to exceed standards got a multiple of 2.4. Those with outstanding performance got a multiple of 4.0. Hindi na ako magko-comment dyan. Let's just say that I got what I deserve.
Last year I applied in one of the Law Schools in Metro Manila. I passed, but I requested for deferment of my admission because I was sent by my senior officers to TIFP to take the Trust Course. Now, the day of reckoning is near. I have to enrol on May 2007 if I really want take the law program.
Learning never stops. I graduated Bs Econ in 98, finished the BPI Officership Training Program in 99, finished MBA in 2001, MAEconomics in 2005, and TIFP course in 2007. I will expect ridicule from my friends pag nalaman nila na I will be taking up Law come June 2007. Thus, Im giving myself 1 month to think about my final decision.
Things I have to consider are the following: estimated costs, present job, expected benefits. I gave it to my Mom and younger brother.
Well, taking up law will be beneficial for my career. Right now, I'm a Portfolio Manager at BPI Asset Management and Trust Group. This means that I will be able to handle well Estate Planning, Trust Indentures, Court Trusts, etc. Right now I deal mostly with the management of institutional funds.
Bahala na.
I'm excited on my forthcoming trip during the Holy Week. I need to go out of Makati by Wednesday night and go home to San Jose, Nueva Ecija. On Holy Thursday up to Easter Sunday, we will explore the provinces of Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur, and Ilocos Norte. Mostly visita iglesia. A portion will be alloted to swimming and snorkelling. A portion will be allotted to eating. We will check if Jollibee will open its branches during the last leg of Lent.
Chao!
