My first entry

Now I can breathe. Just finished the One Year Course on Trust Operations and Investment Management at the Trust Institute Foundation of the Philippines. Gone are the Saturdays wherein I need to wake up early just to be at AIM at exactly 9 am. For the entire year, I think I was late 80% of the time. The remaining 20% - absent - ha ha ha.

I was able to expand my knowledge on trust and investments. I was also able to meet new friends from various trust institutions. May mga classes na masaya. May mga classes rin naman na medyo nakatulog ata ako.

Our graduation is on May 14. It will be held at the Makati Sports Center. I hope ok naman ang rankings ko.

So much for that. Last Friday, we received our Performance Bonus at BPI. Balita ko, those who were able to meet standards got a mutliple of 1.4. Those who were able to exceed standards got a multiple of 2.4. Those with outstanding performance got a multiple of 4.0. Hindi na ako magko-comment dyan. Let's just say that I got what I deserve.

Last year I applied in one of the Law Schools in Metro Manila. I passed, but I requested for deferment of my admission because I was sent by my senior officers to TIFP to take the Trust Course. Now, the day of reckoning is near. I have to enrol on May 2007 if I really want take the law program.

Learning never stops. I graduated Bs Econ in 98, finished the BPI Officership Training Program in 99, finished MBA in 2001, MAEconomics in 2005, and TIFP course in 2007. I will expect ridicule from my friends pag nalaman nila na I will be taking up Law come June 2007. Andyan na naman ang terms na nerdy, over achiever, excited mag-aral, etc. Thus, Im giving myself 1 month to think about my final decision.

Things I have to consider are the following: estimated costs, present job, expected benefits. Di ko alam kung kakayanin pa ng budget ko ang expenses on tuition, books, materials. Lalo na ngayon, naglabas ako ng car. Hindi ko naman ibinenta luma car. I gave it to my Mom and younger brother.

Well, taking up law will be beneficial for my career. Right now, I'm a Portfolio Manager at BPI Asset Management and Trust Group. This means that I will be able to handle well Estate Planning, Trust Indentures, Court Trusts, etc. Right now I deal mostly with the management of institutional funds.

Bahala na.

I'm excited on my forthcoming trip during the Holy Week. I need to go out of Makati by Wednesday night and go home to San Jose, Nueva Ecija. On Holy Thursday up to Easter Sunday, we will explore the provinces of Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur, and Ilocos Norte. Mostly visita iglesia. A portion will be alloted to swimming and snorkelling. A portion will be allotted to eating. We will check if Jollibee will open its branches during the last leg of Lent.

Chao!
